Frequently Asked Questions
Do you take custom orders?
Absolutely. We love bringing your vision to life. Custom orders start with a conversation — tell us about the wood species, design style, timing, and any inspiration photos you have. Custom orders require a 50% deposit to begin, with the balance due on completion. Typical turnaround is 6–8 weeks during busy periods. Reach out through our Contact page to get started.
What woods do you use?
We work with premium hardwoods including maple, walnut, cherry, mahogany, wenge, zebrawood, padauk, ipe, teak, ambrosia maple, bird's-eye maple, osage orange, granadillo, Guatemalan cherry, Patagonian rosewood, curly maple, and white oak. We don't use reclaimed wood — every piece starts with quality hardwood selected for its grain, character, and durability.
How do I care for my cutting board?
Hand wash with warm water and mild soap, then dry immediately. Never put your board in the dishwasher or soak it. To keep the wood nourished and protected, apply our Board Butter regularly — it's made from triple-filtered white beeswax and mineral oil, with no scent and no fillers. Just protection. A little goes a long way.
Do you offer laser engraving?
Yes. Laser engraving is available on many of our cutting boards and serving pieces. It's a great way to personalize a gift or mark a special occasion. Contact us with your engraving idea and we'll let you know what's possible.
What is your shipping policy?
We offer free shipping on orders over $150 within the United States, excluding furniture. Furniture shipping is arranged separately based on size, weight, and destination — we'll provide a shipping quote before finalizing your order.
Can I pick up my order locally?
We're based in Fredericksburg, Virginia, and you'll often find us at local markets and events. Reach out through our Contact page if you'd like to arrange local pickup.
What is your return policy?
We stand behind every piece we make. If you're not satisfied with your purchase, please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order. Because our items are handcrafted, returns are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Custom orders are non-returnable. See our Refund Policy page for full details.
Do you sell wholesale or work with interior designers?
We're actively exploring relationships with interior designers and local retail stores. If you're interested in carrying our pieces or collaborating on a project, we'd love to hear from you. Reach out through our Contact page.
